what is a wide snowboard and I wanna know it’s proper for me or not?

I’m beginner in snowboarding and I wanna buy a board,so I need to know which kind and size of snowboard should I use.I’m 6’3″ and my shoe size is 13. s.b. said to me that I should use a wide snowboard,so I wanna know that is it right and need some more guides about starting this exiting sport.

That’s right. If you have big feet, which I think a size 13 qualifies, then you would want to buy a wide snowboard. A wide snowboard, is exactly what its name implies: a snowboard that is wider on the sides than normal. Why you want a wide snowboard, is because if you have big feet, your feet will be sticking out the sides of a normal snowboard. If you go toeside, your feet will dig into the snow, and you’ll probably eat frost. A wider snowboard will have more room for your feet. I find that they are more stable, though I find it easier to carve with a regular snowboard. Since you’re a beginner though, you wouldn’t notice much of a difference, since you’ll probably be doing a lot of heelside braking first.

Short answer: yes, a wide snowboard would be good for you.
