how much different is a wide snowboard from a regular board?

how much different is a wide snowboard from a regular board?

i was wondering because right now i ride a regular and i was looking for something more stable for landing jumps in the park but i dont want to lose the maneuverability when im carving down groomed slopes. can someone give me some advice. im about 5’9 155 lbs and size 10 boot

    go for a mid-wide. the biggest waist on a mid wide would prolly be 260, plenty of board for a good landing. i got 10.5 boots and i had a wide board last year, with a smaller foot its harder to be aggressive on a wide board

    Snowboard that are wider dont really add any extra stability if you are a average sized person. They only make wide boards for ppl with big feet, i have to use a wide board and i wish i didnt. if u want a good stable board look into the shape of the board. it is the shape that provides stability. try the banana skate shape by Lib tech. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGIhhr-DcQQ
